Away in California

Forgive my extended absence from the blog. Last week I was working in a place where crystals hang on oak tree branches.

Extremely large rabbits jump into small suitcases.

Wearing cute shoes is practical and socially acceptable.

Old vine zinfandels are easy to come by.

The sun is out and the view is nice,

and owls protect the deck from woodpeckers.

After getting picked up at the airport on Saturday afternoon, we jetted straight up to Mount Hood Ski Bowl and embarked on a little night skiing.

This picture is awesome, because it was taken right after I accidentally snapped my goggles from my helmet into my eyes. After a a couple hours of cold runs, Ben and I warmed up in the warming hut with a couple of Snow Day beers.

As soon as we stepped out, we were greeted with surprise fireworks!  As we skied down the hill watching the fire works, it started snowing gently. It was a perfect close to a fantastic evening.

What did you do this week?
