Friday Five –Sunday Addition #AwareWithPink

The change of the seasons has hit me hard. Between the almost constant rain and fighting off a cold, my fitness (and overall) motivation has hit an all time low. This past week, my focus was on doing things to simultaneously rest and relax, but also taking little steps to amp up my motivation.  Here are 5 things that kept me motivated last week, and are making me look forward to Monday and the week ahead! Sweet Tunes: Running while it’s raining... Read More

En Goals

Hello July  – how are you doing?  This morning I was going through my notebook trying to find an empty page on which to scribble a to do list, when I stumbled on my 2016 goal list. The past 6 months have been a whirlwind and I’m so excited to say I have met many of the goals that I set for myself at the beginning of the year.  Others have changed as I have grown and changed, and some I have made some progress on but I need to get... Read More

Title Nine Fit Fest and GIVEAWAY!

I usually hate buying bras, especially sports bras.  When you’re a bigger chested lady, who loves high impact activities (bootcamp, running) finding a sports bra that is both comfortable and functional is challenging.  Before I attended my first Title Nine Fit Fest, I had resigned myself to the idea that I would have to double up on (yes, I mean wear two) sports bras for life. However, last year all of that changed when I attended Title Nine Fit... Read More

We’re on the Whole 30!

Hello Friends! How was your summer?!  Ours was wonderful and full of friends, family, travel and tons of delicious food.  With all of these fun times come lots of glorious food indulgences! But all this indulgence left us feeling a little…sluggish.  I am now working out about 6 times a week, and I felt like all of these little indulgences were adding up and counteracting the hard work I was putting in at boot camp, yoga, and on the trails & track. About... Read More

Title Nine Fit Fest #T9FitFest – Give Away

Confession: Until earlier this week, I have never owned a nice sports bra.  I’m not sure how I got this far without being fitted for a solid sports bra, but now that I have one I swear I’m never going back.  This week, I got to participate in an awesome event as part of Title Nine’s FitFest, where I was sized and fitted for a sports bra by a “bravangelist”.  In addition to sizing me, my bravangelist, Molly (also a... Read More

Trail Factor Half-Marathon Race Re-Cap

Running in Forest Park: they call it “going into the green”.  No matter what time of year, whether pouring rain or bright and sunny, while running on the trails in Forest Park you are submerged in the greenest of green forest scenery.  The beautiful scenery is one of the reasons why Forest Park is one of my favorite place to run and why,on a whim, I signed up for the Trail Factor Half Marathon. While I have completed runs that were longer... Read More

Running with Team Luna Chix

I love running. I love being able to run out frustrations or extra energy at the end of a long day.  I like how a nice long run always helps me find my center.  I love the endorphin rush I get after running any distance.  I love the way it clears my mind and tightens my body. But, despite all of the things I like and love about it, running and I have had an up and down relationship ever since we met when I was in junior high.  For some reason,... Read More

A Healthy Change

The past few months have been all about big changes.  We tied the knot, I changed my last name, and we are starting the process of purchasing a home.  Somewhere in between all of those major life events we dramatically changed our lifestyle and made a conscious decision to be healthier people, and adopted a plant based, whole foods diet. After a particularly indulgent holiday, we sat down on January 3 and talked about our goals for the New Year. ... Read More

Oregon Water Falls

Jamie came to visit! One of my besties, Jamie, came to visit Ben and I in Portland with her cooler than cool boyfriend, Casey.  The weekend was full of hiking, eating, wine tasting, relaxing, and laughing in the backyard by the fire. The weekend kicked off by the fire with some tasty food, wine, and catch up time. Jamie is a vegan, so when we woke up the next morning I was really excited about introducing her to one of our favorite places, Paradox... Read More

Away in California

Forgive my extended absence from the blog. Last week I was working in a place where crystals hang on oak tree branches. Extremely large rabbits jump into small suitcases. Wearing cute shoes is practical and socially acceptable. Old vine zinfandels are easy to come by. The sun is out and the view is nice, and owls protect the deck from woodpeckers. After getting picked up at the airport on Saturday afternoon, we jetted straight up to Mount... Read More
